The main beach, framed by cliffs and calm enough for swimming. The bay is where the dolphins congregate each morning.

Praia do Amor

Praia do Amor

A small, sheltered cove directly below the cliff. The most dramatic approach in Pipa, reached by a steep path.

Praia do Madeiro

Praia do Madeiro

The long, wilder beach to the south. Excellent surf and the quietest spot on the coast on weekday mornings.

Baía dos Golfinhos

Baía dos Golfinhos

The ecological reserve bay where spinner dolphins swim each morning. A remarkable and protected encounter.

Sunset on Pipa beach
The culture

A sunset that becomes a ritual

One of the most special traditions of the local community is the shared ritual of saying goodbye to the day. Each evening, people gather on the beach to watch the sunset, almost ceremonially.

As night falls, Pipa comes alive with restaurants, small boutiques, and a bohemian nightlife. Here, Brazilian culture pulses with energy, offering different dance styles and live music every night.

Pipa in the press

“#9 best beach in the world.”

Baía dos Golfinhos was named the #9 best beach in the world in Tripadvisor's Travellers' Choice “Best of the Best” Beaches 2022 — one of two Brazilian beaches in the global top ten that year.

Tripadvisor — Travellers' Choice 2022

“Pristine beaches backed by tall cliffs.”

One of Brazil's magical destinations: pristine beaches backed by tall cliffs, dreamy lagoons, decent surfing, dolphin- and turtle-filled waters, a great selection of pousadas, hostels, global restaurants and good nightlife. Pipa rivals Jericoacoara as the Northeast's hippest beach town.

Lonely Planet

“Warm seas, dramatic cliffs, and an easy pace.”

A long-time favourite among independent travellers, Praia da Pipa draws a laid-back crowd with its warm seas, dramatic cliffs, and easy pace. It's one of the best spots in Brazil's northeast for spotting dolphins.

Climate & best time

Northeast Brazil has one of the most reliable climates in the world. Pipa enjoys sun year-round, with daily highs around 32°C and an annual average near 28°C. Because it sits in the Southern Hemisphere, the seasons run opposite to Europe: the dry season stretches from September through February, the hottest, sunniest stretch and the most popular for good reason.

The green season (May to August) brings shorter showers and lush green cliffs, and the beaches are often emptier. The trade winds peak from September to December, making it prime kitesurf season.

Sep–Feb

Dry season · Best weather · Peak tourism. Hot, sunny days and warm evenings.

Mar–Apr

Shoulder · Quieter · First showers. Lush vegetation, fewer crowds.

May–Aug

Green season · Low crowd · Daily showers. Most affordable rates, lush green cliffs.

Sep–Dec

Wind season · Trade winds peak · Great kite. Very sunny with excellent swells.

Surroundings & activities

City, dunes, ocean

The villa sits within Tibau do Sul, the municipality that includes Pipa village itself. The setting is quiet (coastal forest and golden dunes), yet a short drive (~8 km) gets you to Pipa village for restaurants, shops and the main beach. Days here unfold slowly: sipping fresh coconut water, walking to a hidden beach, and reconnecting with the ocean.

The region also offers boat trips and water sports: surfing, kitesurf, buggy rides through the dunes, fishing, and dolphin and turtle watching.
